Domestic pollutants are released from the combination of residences, commercial buildings, and institutions. It is generated as a result of the pollutants from human and their living processors such as bathrooms, kitchens, lavatories, toilets, washing machines, and dish washes. In general, there are variations of Domestic pollutants with the population increasing, changing lifestyle patterns, and the development of technology. When considering domestic pollutants, major pollutants are microorganisms, pathogens, plastics, phosphorus, nitrates, lead, and ozone. Most of the organic pollutants are derived as a result of food and vegetable waste. As well as plant nutrients come from chemical soap and washing powders. All these pollutants are caused to environmental pollution and now it is the greatest problem in the world. These pollutants destroy the environment and contaminate food, water, air and cause to spread of disease as well as affect the ecosystem.

Domestic pollutants can be enhanced the risk of illness with the effect of bacteria and viruses. And also some water-contaminated disease-causing bacteria and viruses consumed in fish can be used as food by people and that ability to make people sick. When taking these fish for a long time as food enhances the unwanted health effects. When considering the domestic pollutants contain products which can be given examples paints, pool chemicals, and household cleaners. Domestic water pollutants contain heavy metals, chemical waste, volatile organic compounds, and others that enter the environment due to the discharge of domestic sludge containing organic substances.

Unclean food makes people sick

Controlling domestic pollutants is different from country to country. Developed counties have quite successful actions, but still not considerable actions in developing countries. Now there are many technologies for reducing pollutants. “End of pipe” treatment can be used as a treatment method for urban environmental systems. As well as the “Three R” principle which is reuse, recycling, reduce can be used for municipal waste treatment. And also there are solid waste disposal technologies including landfill, incineration, and composting. These are the mainstream technologies that can be used for waste and wastewater treatment in a domestic environment.
